A lively educational program designed specifically for children under the age of 12, however, it appeals to young and old alike! These life like, child size puppets are made real through the special talents of a committed group of volunteer puppeteers. Brian, who has epilepsy, and has friends Nam and Joanne, all go to the same school. Together, they learn about seizures, first aid, medical tests to diagnose epilepsy and famous people with epilepsy.  These colourful puppets truly bring the experiences of children with epilepsy to life, and help elementary students learn what epilepsy is, what a seizure is, first aid, and how even though we all have differences, we all belong!

Up to four scripts, including Brian Has a Seizure, Playing It Safe, and Caesar's Seizures, can be performed by the trained volunteers.  The full presentation typically takes approximately an hour, including the scripted performances as well as questions and answers.

New to Edmonton Epilepsy as of the fall of 2002, Kids on the Block entertains and educates. Presentations are offered at no cost, however donations are gratefully accepted to ensure this valuable educational program continues.
